The China Court, set at right angles to the road, is now a private residence with nothing to suggest that it was once a public house. I have found no details of the China Court after 1903, which suggests that it had closed before the outbreak of the First World War.
Sarah Wysom was the owner of the China Court Inn in 1891 and 1903. It was licensed as a beer house, free of brewery tie, and had an annual rateable value of £12.5s.0d. Closing time was at 10 pm. The occupying landlord in 1891 was E. Marfell and in 1903 Robert Yemm is in residence serving the pints. Robert was later to move to the Nelsons Arms.
