John Hollings was a clothier in Stroud who died in 1805. He owned two inns, the Duke of Cumberland and the Kings Arms. The Kings Arms Inn was purchased by Thomas Wall in 1818 and subsequently became the Royal George Inn.

A new nightclub was opened in May 2008 at 27a Nelson Street in the premises that was previously Bar Riga. A promotional advertisement stated that Junction 13 ‘will play favourites from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and now features four 42 inch plasma screens.’

Imperial Hotel, Station Road, Stroud GL5 3AP

The Imperial is an impressive hotel built in 1863 by Benjamin Bucknall – the architect who also designed Woodchester Park Mansion. It gained a spirit licence on the 4th September 1862.
